Isaac and Jacob at Pre-School, B’nai Tikvah

Exciting! For the past several months, I was fortunate to be part of a group of artists who met at Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership. The concept was that we would be inspired and educated on concepts and artistic approaches that would help shape our inspiration and creativity. Now is the time for our show! This is the first gallery exhibit at the new space at Spertus, on the first floor. The exhibit opens on September 25th and will run into the Spring of 2017. I hope you get a chance to see this impressive eclectic collection, created by me and my eleven friends and cohorts who were part of this inaugural program.  Check this link for more about the artists and the display at Spertus, “Voices of Wisdom.”

I’m including in this blog a few “samples” of my photos that will appear in the exhibit.  All B&W.  There are many more related images I took over the past several months.  I appreciate all of those who cooperated and allowed me to photograph them.  Not every photo is represented in the show!  I stuck with all B&W, for example, and tried to avoid redundancy, etc.  However, my next project will be to put some images into a personal book.  I’m also inspired to keep photographing material for this ongoing project.  There’s SO much.

On another note, this marks the inaugural post with my new setup.  New URL (SML-Photos.com), new host, new features, etc.  I’m working on it with the help and direction of Kiley Peters. (Thanks, Kiley)  You may notice a few changes…and there will be more.  I want this to be fun and interesting for you and me!
We took the names (hoping they’re still active and signed up!) from the old subscription widget and plugged them into the new one in this blog.  Should be easier to sign up, so please spread the word.  The more followers and participants, the better!
I’ll be including some new features and designs along the way.  Your feedback is welcome.
Feel free to follow on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
